ANN'S PLACE, ST HELENA - yachties' friend in the South Atlantic

St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean can only be reached by sea: its charm and unspoilt character remain preserved from mass tourism. Warm and friendly people, potatoes sold by the gallon (as in olde Englande), Napoleon’s tomb, Jacob’s Ladder and Ann’s Place, a welcoming haven for visiting yachts.

SIESTA added to WATERCOLOURS page

SIESTA

We love the Spanish siesta, those few hours in the afternoon when everything closes. It’s a time to relax: to sleep or swim or fish. If you read here you’ll see that an afternoon siesta can benefit us all.

NAKED VALOUR

NAKED VALOUR

Naked Valour is up on the DEFENCE OF RORKE”S DRIFT page under WATERCOLOURS. There’s a photo sequence of the work and a couple of my working sketches. This painting progressed smoothly despite interruptions – like outboard repair (sort of like fixing the car for dirt dwellers), barnacle scraping, learning Spanish and all those martinis on the back deck (I wish)!

Hasta luego, amigos.
