SAATCHI’S ABSTRACT SHOWDOWN

COMPOSITION

Here is my entry in this competition and if you clicky you’ll go to my Saatchi page where you may view the painting in full resolution and see what COMPOSITION is about. There are 3333 entrants … wooo … 50 will go through to the next round on community votes – that means you can help by ‘liking’ my entry on my Saatchi page – and 250 will go through by jury decision. From those 300 the judges will pick 30 to go forward to the next round. Ultimately there’ll be a winner!

NAKED VALOUR

NAKED VALOUR

Naked Valour is up on the DEFENCE OF RORKE”S DRIFT page under WATERCOLOURS. There’s a photo sequence of the work and a couple of my working sketches. This painting progressed smoothly despite interruptions – like outboard repair (sort of like fixing the car for dirt dwellers), barnacle scraping, learning Spanish and all those martinis on the back deck (I wish)!

Hasta luego, amigos.

EXERCISES added as new page

To stimulate creativity and fire imagination I have some favourite exercises that I’m sharing on this new page. I call these CREATIVE BLOBS … that’s what they are – blobs of watercolour or ink randomly brushed or splattered. I spend time looking until inspiration has me grabbing a pen to make them into something. Not as easy as it sounds. Go ahead and try – I’ve put some blobs up on the EXERCISES page. Here’s an example of a CREATIVE BLOB:

Go here to see what I made of it.
