We started this blog for a very specific reason that we now don’t remember! Studio Blue Sea  has wandered off in its own direction and, like life, just unfolds. Writing and recording is fun but the best part of this virtual experience is fellow bloggers who’ve been so kind with likes, comments and emails.  We’re amazed by the number of people who’ve chosen to follow us and can’t believe we’re approaching the 100 mark. As a token of appreciation we’ve decided to send our 100th follower a small watercolour – the little painting of a seascape shown here.  When you join, number 100, we’ll get in contact with you directly.

In the meantime, a very big thank you to our readers and our followers and everyone who likes and comments on Studio Blue Sea.

SAATCHI’S ABSTRACT SHOWDOWN

COMPOSITION

Here is my entry in this competition and if you clicky you’ll go to my Saatchi page where you may view the painting in full resolution and see what COMPOSITION is about. There are 3333 entrants … wooo … 50 will go through to the next round on community votes – that means you can help by ‘liking’ my entry on my Saatchi page – and 250 will go through by jury decision. From those 300 the judges will pick 30 to go forward to the next round. Ultimately there’ll be a winner!

A VIEW WITH MORNING COFFEE

Multi-tasking is something we avoid if possible, being of the mind that sensory perception works better when focus is added and pleasure is diminished by the number of times that focus is divided. The absolute pleasure of sipping a great cup of coffee combined with observing the view should be the extent of multi-tasking but sometimes the light calls for an immediate sketch. Here’s the sketch on (weak) coffee-coloured paper. Stop everything else and enjoy looking.
